GMWRAG is aware not many of our members are solicitors although many of us have excellent working relationships with same. However, we are pleased to see a co-ordinated response to advice provision in the wake of the recent Manchester Arena bomb.
Manchester Law Society had previously put out a plea for pro bono advice and representation for families affected by the events of Monday the 22nd and has received an ‘overwhelming’ response in the last 48 hours.
The society’s chief executive, Fran Eccles-Bech, said more than 100 solicitor firms, law students, barristers and ‘bigger’ law firms in the north and farther afield have offered to provide free advice to help with legal issues that those affected by the bombing may face. This includes welfare benefits.
Eccles-Bech said the society is working with Manchester police ‘so that victims can more easily find the help they need’.Follow @GMWRAGtweets
